Shri Ram and Laxmanji were searching for mother Sita in the forest. In the forest, Sugriva was sitting on a hill with his ministers. As soon as Sugriva saw Shri Ram and Laxmanji, he panicked and thought that his brother King Bali might have sent these two youths to kill him. He requested one of his ministers, Hanumanji to find who were these two handsome youths and what were they doing in the forest.

Hanumanji disguised himself as a brahman student and approached Shri Ram and Laxmanji with folded hands. He requested Shri Ram and Laxmanji to introduce themselves. He wondered who were these princely and gentle looking youths and why were they in this harsh forest.

Shri Ram introduced himself as the son of King Dashrath from Ayodhya. Shri Ram then introduced Laxmanji as his younger brother. Shri Ram said that they were searching for his wife, Sita who was abducted by the evil Ravana, the king of Lanka. Shri Ram then respectfully asked Hanumanji about himself.

Hanumanji realized that he was in front of the person who was most dear to him. Hanumanji immediately fell at Shri Ramji’s feet and asked for his forgiveness. With tears in his eyes, Hanumanji asked Lord Ram on why he requested him to introduce himself. Hanumanji said that how could his Lord forget him, his devotee. Shri Ram gently wiped the tears from Hanumanji’s eyes and hugged him. Shri Ram consoled Hanumanji by saying that his devotees were most dear to him and that he never forgets them. Shri Ram then said that Hanumanji was as dear to him as Bharata. Hanumanji was now very happy.

This is the story of how Hanumanji met Shri Ram and Laxmanji.
